MapSearch from The National Renewable Energy Laboratories (NREL) enables you to easily access over 1000 maps created by its Geographic Information System (GIS) team. Search by technology type (e.g. geothermal), geographic region, county or state to find maps to support instruction about an energy source.
Since I am focusing on geothermal energy this month, one map of relevance (shown here) shows the locations of Hydrothermal Sites and Favorability of Deep Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) in the US. More info can be found in the 2008 Assessment of Moderate- and High-Temperature Geothermal Resources of the United States by the USGS.
