The Nuclear Fuel Cycle

The World Nuclear Association’s website contains a set-by step description of the Nuclear Fuel Cycle as well as information about uranium mining from across the globe.

The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) also provides comprehensive information about the nuclear fuel cycle along with a diagram of the fuel cycle.

This website from Princeton University contains information, diagrams  & references pertaining to Uranium Mining and Extraction, Enrichment, Fuel Fabrication, Reprocessing and Waste Disposal.

The NEED Project’s relatively new module Exploring Nuclear Energy also contains a description of the fuel cycle in the student guide as well as a lab activity where students conduct a uranium milling simulation to conceptualize how uranium is extracted from uranium ore.
